Pagan Sisters?

Upon advice from my Sisters in the SC mountains, I'm putting this "out there" in cyberspace hoping the Universe will answer my request.

I'm looking for one or two other Pagan sisters to start a circle here in the East Bay. I've seen the listings for the larger groups, such as the CAYA coven and others, and personally, they just don't hit the mark for me. Too large, too impersonal. Since I don't seem to be able to find an existing circle to join, I have decided to try and start a new one.

About my practice: I am a Christopagan, and as such, am very eclectic in my outlook as well as accepting. I'm looking for the same in my circle sisters. You can be whatever type of Pagan you may be--Wiccan, Heathen,or any other earth-based spiritual practitioner , novice witch, kitchen witch or full-blown ceremonial witch. Just be accepting of the path I and anyone else who might join us walks. You should be a low/no drama person who is believes in listening as much as being heard and is trustworthy above all things.

I'm looking for sisters because to be quite honest, I like the dynamic of a Dianic circle. (See this little snippet about Dianic paganism if you are unsure what it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dianic_tradition).

Experienced or novice, I don't mind. But I am looking for someone who is committed to meeting on the Full Moon (or New, depending on what we decide together) every month and growing in their spiritual path, whatever that may be. You should live in the East Bay to facilitate getting together for circles.

Hi all,

I apologise if advertising here causes offence but I am hoping that
the subject of this podcast will be of sufficient interest to the
subscribers to this list to warrant inclusion.

I produce the Celtic Myth Podshow (http://celticmythpodshow.com) which
is a free MP3 download and aims to tell the stories of Celtic
mythology to its listeners. We have started with the Irish
Mythological Cycle and aim to cover all of the Six Nations in the
series. The by-line of the show is "Bringing the Tales and Stories of
the Ancient Celts to your Fireside" which is the atmosphere we would
like to create. The old legends were recounted orally and only written
down in later years, so by hearing them told we are getting a step
closer to their original presentation and hopefull, meaning. That's
the theory anyway :) Our website also includes Maps of Ireland
with the places mentioned in the stories marked. Many of these places are
still exist and are spiritual centres to many people

i haven't done an introduce-myself-post on any list is a long, long time. lol

i've been dedicated to Brighid for over a decade now, but recently felt one of those Clue-by-Four's upside my head. this old grey-headed, eclectic, Kitchen & Water Witch was being called to the Fire and was fighting it. you know this story, right? [slapping head again] yep, busted!

so now i'm consuming information along a secondary path (less hearth, more forge) and my lady B is just over my shoulder nudging me big time. i'm hoping all you fine followers will help me learn more about all the aspects of my lady-guide-goddess-friend.

I have one seat open in my Ranger. The other seat is taken. The fourth seat will be for baggage. Unless if someone really really really need a ride and willing to travel super light. I can take one passenger with little stuff. I DO HAVE A BIKE RACK THAT CAN HOLD UP TO 4 BIKES!!!

I will be offering a ride from the Bay Area and the stated above areas to BRC. I have a Ford Ranger with a passenger and two jump seats open. The passenger seat will be reserved for a large person. The two jump seats are facing each other and cramped. If a large person does not take up my offer then we can rotate seats on the way up to BRC.

My Ranger is in excellent shape with AC, open rear window, cup holder in front and back, XM radio and CD Player. I have a bike (with lock) rack that can hold up to 4 bikes. The bed of my Ranger has a tonnou so your stuff will be locked for all road stops. SPACE IS VERY LIMITED!!! YOU MIGHT HAVE TO CARRY SOME OF YOUR STUFF ON YOUR LAP IF NEED BE!!!

Routes, Stops and Pick Up Locations

I live in Petaluma. I will pick up anyone in SF, North Bay, East Bay or along the final route. If you really really really in need of a ride and you are not in these locations or coming from an airport... then lets talk!

I will be making rest stops at all rest stops. Potty breaks and need for a smoke (NO TOKE) or stretch are very much welcome! So are taking pictures.

I had two routes in mind but the final route will be:

1. Hwy 80 and dinner at the El Dorado Buffet (very yummy) in Reno.

RULES

1. No smoking in my truck.
2. NO DRUGS!!!
3. Must have ticket in hand. NO WILL CALLS OR WALK UPS.
4. Be well bathed.
5. Baggage Yes!!! Emotional baggage No!!!
6. No children.
7. Be Fun!!!

Why???

Why I am doing this??? I have missed so many Burns because I had no car or rides.

To Ease the Pain of Burners Past On...

Burner’s Psalm:

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for fellow Burners art with me; thy song and thy poi they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine fears: thou anointest my head with cold water; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and joy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in on the Playa forever.

I Woke Up:

I woke up. I find myself lying down on my back on the hot hard ground. The bright sun it beating down on my face. I can barely open my eyes. A hot wind comes by. I choke and gag. For dust is in my eyes and throat. I can barely see or breathe. I try to clear my throat and get the dust out of my eye. To no avail the wind just replenishes the dust.

From a squint I can see a shadowy figure coming towards me. As the figure comes closer to me it starts to cry out, “Are you ok?”

I yell back at the shadowy figure, “No! I can not see nor breath.”

The shadowy figure now stands before me. Cool water is dripping on my head and face. I splash the water in my eyes. I drink some of the water. I clear my throat. I can now see and breathe again.

I look up. There I see a man who is much younger then me. He is wearing shades and a dusty boonie hat that has seen many years. His khaki shirt was chock covered with dust and a cup hangs from a tan utilikilt. I thank him and he said “No problem.”

I asked him what his name was. All he said that it was not important right now. He calls me by my playa name, hand me some swimming goggles and says, “Come, follow me. It is time.”

I am thinking to myself, “How does he know my playa name?”

I followed him through the dust storm. About a half a mile walk the dust storm clears and right away I know where I am. I see a very familiar landscape. I see the Man in the distance. I was shocked! How did I end up on the Playa? I was… then I just ended up here!

I turned to the young man and grabbed him. With a puzzled stare straight in to his face. I asked him.

“How the fuck did I get here?”

He just smiled and laughed.

“It is not in my place to tell you how you got here. However, I can tell you this. This is the place where you wanted to be.”

The wind started to blow again and the dust started to pick up. The young man smiled again and walked into the blowing dust and faded away.

Wandering:

The wind started to die down again. I can see far and wide now. There I see RVs, tents, and domes scattered about. There were no street signs. No loud rave music nor center camp. Nothing like the Burning Man I had grown to know. Instead it reminds me of the tales of the early days of Burning Man. When everything had just moved from beaches of San Francisco to Black Rock Desert. There were about a hundred people that I could see. Not the masses of people I am use to.

I walked around the playa with my swimming goggles in hand. I see artwork. Some I have seen before on the playa. Others I have only seen in pictures from Burns past. I hear live music. I can see two women practicing their Poi in the distance. I can smell camp food cooking. I am hungry. I wander toward the smell. It smells good.

I find the camp where I smelled the food. At the camp was an older couple in there fifties. They both turned my way. The older woman yells my way, “Your welcome to join us”. I waked over to there camp and looked around.

There I see the older make cooking breakfast. He had an old Coleman stove with two Teflon pans on the burners. He was frying up some links and eggs. The older woman was beading. She had all of her beads laid out in trays. Many colors. Many kinds. She had plastic, ceramic, wooden and anything imaginable. I found a seat and just watch her make a necklace.

The older man yelps “Lunch’s up!” and hands me a plate. I took the food and started to eat.

I looked up at him and asked him, “Where am I?”

Both the older man and woman just smiled.

As the older man served his wife some food she said to me. “You’re dead boy.”

I replied “Dead?”

“Yup!” replied the older man. “You’re dead.”

I just dropped my plate to my lap and sank into the chair.

I am like “Holy Shit!”

“How did I die?”

“Well…” paused the older man. “It is not really my place to tell you see. If is up to you to find yourself. In time you will find out. The Burn is just a few months from now. You will find out then.”

I was totally stoked what he had told me. Then I got to thinking. If I am dead and on the Playa… So where is Heaven and Hell.

So I asked him where is Heaven and Hell.

This time the older woman answered.

“Here we call Heaven and Hell Theme Camps. You are here by your own choice. You loved the Playa and wanted to die on the Playa. You always wished to return to the Playa after you had passed away. Well you got it!”

I just looked down and gave out a big “Whaooooooooo……!!!!”

As the older woman made her necklace she continued.

“You may come and go as you please. There is no gate fee here but I cannot guarantee you can come back. Like Hell… For some people it is very hard to get out but some do. There are other Theme Camps other then Heaven and Hell of “Heavens” past like Alyssum.”

I interrupted her. “Where are all the Theme Camps I know and love?”

“Ahhhh…” said the older women. “They are not here yet. They will come. You’ll see. We are the first Burners to cross over. There are only a few of us now. In time there will be more. As they come they will bring their theme camps and art. Who knows, you will might just see some of your friends. If they choose to. If not, then just cross over to a Theme Camp and visit them. It is ok.”

I just stared into my plate. The older lady leans over and says, “Here take this. It is a gift”. She hands me the necklace she was making. It was made of small plastic beads of all colors. It had a brass charm of the Man. I thanked her and started to stair out into space.

A Few Months Later:

It has been three months now since I have died. I have gotten to know everyone on the Playa. Some people crossed over with morning from the Burner community. Others just past away anomalously. Regardless on how active they where in the Burner community they all have one thing in common. They all wished to meet again on the Playa.

I managed to setup my own camp. It is funny here. If you need supplies or something you just go to the other camps and they will just might have it. It is not like they have a grocery store or a Home Depot at their camp. They will just “have it”. Likewise, if someone comes to my camp looking for something I will just have it. I do not know how it got there or what… but I will just have it. Most people just go around asking for things. Some people still prefer trade and barter. I just give things away with a smile. I mean why not? We are all Burners here.

Everyday I ride my sparkling blue dragonfly bike to the Man. Each time I go to the Man I wonder how my friend and family are doing. Even though I am at peace here I still miss them so much.

As time passes new people show up on the Playa out of the dust. Old people. Young people. Some in groups most just arrived alone. They all come out of the dust just like I did. Each time I would meet a new arrival I would ask if they know my friends or family. Nobody knew them. I guess in time I would find out about them.

The Night of the Burn:

On the night of the Burn everyone gathered around the Man. There I just stood alone waiting for the fireworks and poi dancers to come out. Instead everyone just stood silently trance like. The wind started to pick up. Only this time the wind was blowing heavier then normal. The dust was so thick that I could not see an inch in front of me. I was like “Oh no! I will not see the Burn.”

Then the wind died down and the dust cleared.

I find myself standing alone.

On the Playa:

Not the Playa where I have been resting…

…but the Playa I have always knew.

It was alive and full of people. I can see this years Man and Temple. I see art cars and poi dancers. People are talking, laughing, in motion, and just having fun. I can see all my favorite Theme Camps. I see people in costume and lots of EL Wire. The rave music was pumping and jamming. I was home.

Out from the crowd came a very familiar face. It was the young man I met when I arrived at the Playa. She smiled at me hugged me and says, “Welcome home.” I returned his hub in kind.

Remembering the first meeting that I did not get his name. So I asked him, “What is your name?”

Once again he just smiled at me, “It is not important. But…. I have something for you to see. Come with me.”

He garbed my hand and started to walk me through the Playa. There we came to a gathering of people. They are all standing around a makeshift temple. As we walked nearer I begin to recognize familiar faces and I begin to cry.

I see all my friends. I see my parents who vowed never to come to Burning Man. Most of all I see my wife and husband. They where both there… and crying…

The young man let go of me and I ran up to the makeshift temple. To my surprise it was a temple dedicated to me. It had all of my pictures on it. It had letters and poems dedicated to me. It had stuff written by well wishers who were just passing by. My father is reading my eulogy. As it is being read my mother is just balling and my wife and husband are just embracing each other for support. There I learned on how I died and hear all the tales of my past life experiences.

As they all spoke of good memories I feel myself getting lighter. I feel at ease. It is a strange feeling. I never felt like this before. Even on ecstasy I never felt like this. It is a wonderful feeling. I can feel the burdens lifting from my soul as they remembered me in word.

The Burn:

I turned to the young man and said to him, “Is there a way I can talk to them”

“Yes”, he replied. “All you have to do is to think it and say it. They will hear it one way or another. They usually do.”

I did just that. The wind and dust kicked up a little. My words blew in the wind and dust saying that I am Ok and missed them. They all perked up with a strange look in their faces.

When the Man burned my friends and family burned the temple. They all held each other and cried. Every one of them had tears rolling down their faces. I cried to. I tried to touch them but I just went through them. Sot of expect when you are dead.

The Man finally burned down. My temple was no more. My family, friends and all the Burners on the Playa went back to their respective camps. I find myself standing alone. Just pondering and looking down. I can see dawn. It is a new day. People will start packing and go home soon. Some will return some will not.

The young man came up to me again. He said it is time to go back. I just looked at him with teary eyes. I asked him if the Man was a God or something. This is what he told me.

“The Burning Man is not a God nor a religion. The Man himself represents who we are. We are many people for all walks of life. We are artisans and poets. Dreamers and the realists. We are faeries, Goths, dragonflies, Dominas, seekers, losers, givers and takers. We are many things and the Man is all of use combined together. That is why if you ask any Burner what is Burning Man is you will always get a different answer. Burning Man is many things and never a single thing.”

He turned toward the Man and told me it was time to go. I reached for his hand and the winds and dust came back. It is time to go. Time to return to my Playa. I am not worried about my friends and family anymore. They still love me and I love them. I will see them next year. One day… if they decide to choose… I will see them on the Playa in years to come. Time to leave home for home.

This story id dedicated to all the love ones we lost and the people who remembers them. May we all meet again on the Playa.

Canadian Bacon Part I: The Dark Sidhe of Christmas

My first stop on my way to Canada was Yuba City, California. I have a Friend who lives there. I I will just call her "J" for the record. Anywho, J has five kids. Three sons and two daughters. The oldest son and daughter are over 18 and moved out. J's oldest daughter who I will call "M" is going through rugh times. She is unmarried have one kid and another one on the way. She is unmarried and hidding from the father of her child on the way.

She very little income. To make ends meet J being a great mom had M's cable and phone but in her name. She did this so M can have decient TV to watch and a phone to use. Unfortunatly M took advantage o her mom and racked up $400 in pay per view and $600 in long distance calls in one month alone. Being both services in J's name she must pay up or else. To do so she had to use the Xmas money ear marked for her three younger kids ages of 13, 10, and 7. It was going to be a hard Xmas for them.

Along comes the Dark Sidhe of Christmas. I was told before had (if you know what I mean) from my Parton Brigidh to bring my pocket book. For I will save someones Christmas. I was expecting a stranger but it was not oneIt turned out to be my friend who was that person I will "Cross Paths" with. I took her to BIG K Mark and told her to get some gifts for her three younger kids. She did but I told her to put the toys back. She was being polite. I told her go get some real gifts. I also tolder her to select the ones for her daughter and I will do the ones for the two boys. My being young at heart I selected the most coolist toys there was!!! When we went to the registor the total was around $400.00. I told jay I will pay for this only with one condition and one condition only. That she sez to her kids that she boutght them and never tell anyone I really bought them. She agreed and I swiped my ATM carded and paid.

Community flagging? What is it? Any yahoo can "flag: and delete what I say??? Hey!!! Can I now delete your pic and all of your threads because I can? What is porn? Some say it is art? Who will decide this? What is considered offensive? I got in a big fight in a tribe for using the common term "BBW" (Big Beautifl Women). If some take offence they can delete me? How about some who finds people named "wade" to be offensive? Can they delete you? What is some computer geek overseas desided to delete people or threads at will? How about "Pro Choice and Pro Life People"??? Tow strongly opinionated and very vocal groups. Are they going to "flag" each other?

Single Pagan Male Looking for Single Female.

I am a single, Pagan, male, 34, 5’ 8”, #215. I do not smoke, drink or use drugs. I have natural black hair and chameleon eyes (they naturally change color!). I enjoy many things. Some of the things I love to do are camping, Burning Man, hiking, snow, road trips, live music, theatre, and more.

I am a Pagan. I want to get this part out now. I have no plans on changing religions. I am in the service of Brigit. She is my main Goddess. My totem is a Sidhe. I use to be a Bull but I am in transition.

I am an avid camper. I have lots of camp stuff. I do not necessary take everything with me. I just take what I need. I love to camp in the South West Deserts, redwoods, beaches, and Mono Lake. I just about camp anywhere!!!

This year was my first Burning Man trip. Unfortunately none of my friends could make it and I ended up going alone. I did have a great time but wish I had people to share it with. I would love to go again but no alone.

Snow!!! Snow is one of my elements. You may see this in my tribe gallery. I am currently learning to snow board. I have been trying since last season. I hope I will get it this year! I do love to snow shoe. I do own my own pair and use them every season either at Kirkwood or Yosemite.

Road trips are a must for me. I love to travel either by driving or train. I have been to many states in my truck Thor. I do road trips year around. Regardless of rain or snow.

I love the muse!!! I love the arts!!! I love live music and theatre. Matter of fact I got to see Dead Can Dance when they where in Oakland.

Sex… I am straight but not narrow. The reason what I am talking about this now is to get two things out of the way. I am in to some BDSM but not into the life style. It is more then kinky play. If you are in the life style then we can talk further. The other this is that I am a cunnalingus addict. A real addict. For any ladies just ladies to get laid… please move on.
